Along with a nice neutral palate, decluttering your personal belongings can really help a prospective buyer see themselves living in your home. Pre-packing or decluttering can also help ease the stress of your own move by getting some of the work out of the way in advance of the busy showing and selling process. We recommend packing away all personal photographs and souvenirs as well as any extra furniture that you won’t be needing during the sale of your home. 

 

 

While we do not recommend decorating your home for the holidays in the midst of listing it for sale. The colder seasons do offer the opportunity to add some cozy furnishings to the space which prospective buyers will love. We suggest layering the space with rugs and cozy throws, plenty of lamps and soft lighting, and adding some light seasonal scents.

Also, don’t forget the temperature. Vacant homes can get chilly this time of year so make sure to turn on the heat for all showings.
